Stark, bare winter. This was Bear Creek before the Army Corp of Engineers made it safer. I used this image for soap operas like All My Children, in full color of course. I find it calls to me in a single color, blue. We used to make blue pictures in the darkroom with iron toning. Somewhat like sepia toning, but we had to be really careful to wash the paper well. Now the computer program does it in seconds. Ha!
Richard Lund entered the film industry in 1980. He did specialized photography making background pictures for motion pictures and television. He shot 8x10 plates for his first movie in Riverside California. The film was Buddy, Buddy directed by Billy Wilder and starring Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau. He printed the pictures with a crew on Kodak Translite film. Thus began his career. Personally he photographed large format images for 240 feature films and a lot of television. Additionally he supervised production of about two thousand background pictures.
