Randy's Donuts Rocks! It is a true icon of Southern California car culture. Just off the "405", it has made its mark on movies, commercials, and on late night TV. My picture appeared every night on the ten o'clock show and the last edition of the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Careful inspection will reveal some personal touches including the talented designer of the shows. You cannot get more SoCal than this.
Richard Lund entered the film industry in 1980. He did specialized photography making background pictures for motion pictures and television. He shot 8x10 plates for his first movie in Riverside California. The film was Buddy, Buddy directed by Billy Wilder and starring Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau. He printed the pictures with a crew on Kodak Translite film. Thus began his career. Personally he photographed large format images for 240 feature films and a lot of television. Additionally he supervised production of about two thousand background pictures. He originated the Chromatrans full color backgrounds, inventing the seaming process for this new style polyester based film. (The original Translites were black and white with color...
